Chad Heywood, Partner

Chad Heywood is a Partner at Public Square where he provides advice on issue advocacy, crisis communications, and general strategic consulting. An expert in grassroots advocacy, and data targeting, Heywood has led campaigns at every political level.

Prior to Public Square and its affiliated company Camelback Strategy Group, Chad was Executive Director of the Arizona Republican Party. During his tenure, the Republican Party in Arizona won every statewide office, won back Arizona’s Republican majority in the US House, strengthened its relationship with Arizona’s diverse ethnic communities, led the nation in the use of data and technology, and doubled its previous fundraising numbers. The Arizona Capitol Times nominated Chad for top political operative in 2014 and 2015.

Since then, Chad has developed winning strategies and run successful local campaigns across Arizona, with campaigns for Mayor in Gilbert, Mesa, and recently helped elect Jason Beck as Mayor of Peoria, AZ in 2022. In 2020 and again in 2022, Heywood ran the Republican Legislative Victory Committee for Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers and Senate President Karen Fann. The committee successfully defended the Republican majority in Arizona even with AZ turning blue at the Federal and Statewide office level. In 2022, Camelback Strategy Group was the success behind Governor Greg Abbott’s extensive statewide door-to-door camping in Texas, knocking over 3.1 Million doors between June and the November 2022 Election. In 2021, Heywood was also the recipient of the AAPC’s 40 under Forty award.

Prior to his involvement in politics, Chad worked as a sales and marketing professional, training teams in direct sales, and presenting at marketing and trade shows. Chad took his leadership and persuasion experience into the field of politics where he began his career as a Congressional staffer and director of outreach for then-Representative Jeff Flake. In addition to his public affairs work, Chad is involved in guest teaching, career coaching/mentoring, and public speaking throughout the state of Arizona. Chad is a community connector actively involved in education, business, and non-profit work. Heywood is the father of six children. Happily married to his wife of 20 years, they live in Gilbert, Arizona where it is the joy of their lives to teach their children and see them grow.
